That is what we had in computer science when I was in high school. The guy teaching it was really sharp. He also taught physics. He used to get mad at me for porting video games from those magazines that came with programs printed out in them. It would always be programs for c64 or some other home computer. By the end of my first year there were copies of my ported games floating around everywhere. I was the only person up til that time that every had more than a hundred percent in one of his classes. So much so he took the bonus questions off his test. It was really nice to be the best at something for once.

Those of us who can remember used those to save programs. It could take an hour or more if you had a large enough tape save a single file.

Edit: I decided to take stroll down memory lane and have discovered that there were two Samantha foxes one was in pornos and the one I’m remembering was a page three girl in the UK. The page I found had them as the same person even though they look nothing alike.

These days roblox barely runs on windows. Now in order for it to update it needs local admin privileges. So no more roblox.

Mine are 95 percent county funded in a blue zone. State is already trying to lay down the law only to discover they don’t give much in the way of funds. No bucks no leverage. Only law they passed got overturned.

I was gonna charge the guy 500 dollars to rename thirty thousand images to match the directory names. Since the guy had switched cameras several times it would have involved more than one simple script but I wasn’t being paid for the script. I was being paid to do the job. Except my bash prompt scared the guy. The truth of it is he used me to leverage the company that specialized in data recovery into lowering their price down to a still absurd but much smaller amount.
Its not the first time I’ve seen it but when they do something like that to me they burn a bridge.

A related scam is charging absurd amount to convert and catalog microfiche to images or PDF’s. Granted a machine to do this quickly and efficiently is in the 10 to 20 grand range. The process is boring and repetitious and in no way worth the amount some companies want to charge.

Get rid of those doing the jobs that are vital and pretend that the solution is to make teenagers rightsless workers.
