You should purposely misspell it from time to time to … homo

And when people point it out, just apologize and say it was a typo … be very apologetic and sincere and even offer to send cupcakes to them for the inconvenience (include some mild laxative in the cupcake … and alternate to cannabis the next time it happens)

Getting decent housing that isn’t in an HOA in some regions is a privilege a lot of people don’t have. At least they were still able to attain some homeownership.

If someone can kick you out of your house because you painted your fence the wrong color then you don’t own your house.

I live in the “hood” and I have no HOA.

Fuck them “whites only” redlining neighborhoods where you don’t even have freedom.

Btw it isn’t even that bad as depicted on TV, they over-exaggerate everything. I still alive after a decade, haven’t personally known anyone that died to homicide. The upside is that there aint any nazis around here at least, so for me as a non-white its actually safer than those racist-ass neighborhoods. As long as I don’t go near drugs or gangs and I’m fine. And also remember to stay away from pigs.

Like everything in life, not all HOAs are the same. There’s definitely a bias surrounding them, because people who live in good ones don’t complain every time they’re mentioned.

Tomo means friend in Japanese (友), so my bilingual ass would probably go the other direction and end up interpreting her messages to be more cheery than intended.

“Tomo the street sweeper is coming through so don’t forget to park in your driveways.”

“Tomo we are holding our annual HOA elections; make sure to attend!”

“Trash pickup was days ago, so don’t let me catch your cans out tomo.”

I learned a long time ago that the things you make fun of can become part of you.

          Solid advice, friend. Cheers

100%. If I make fun of something or say something ironically, I have a hard rule of once only. There’s no need to harp on and beat the dead horse anyway. Once is enough to make your stance known.

I know I’m getting older but this would bother me as well. It seems like a terrible way to shorten the word in my head. I think my brain just doesn’t like vowels and wants words to be shortened to end with consonants. Things like HOA make sense because they are all individual words.

Tomo pomo (“see you tomorrow, postmodernist”).

All I need to be featured on a crime show is otherwise intelligent, educated people who type “u” in place of “you”. The only thing that can make someone seem dumber is a backwards baseball cap.

Imma be real with y’all, at this point I’d welcome that as it’s less likely to be an auto generated AI message.
