Am I the only one concerned that the senator didn’t forcibly bring him home? I feel like a US Marshall or three should have accompanied Mr. Garcia and the senator out the front door and onto the jet all the cons are complaining about.

Senators don’t have that kind of power. The constitution’s fatal flaw is that it designates the legislative branch to make the laws and the judicial to interpret them, but left both reliant on the executive branch the enforce them. He could certainly try to bring Garcia back but without the executive branch on his side he’d likely get stuck there himself.

You misunderstand; getting stuck there is exactly what the senator should have done if they wouldn’t let him take Mr. Garcia.

This is a falsely accused, illegally deported human stuck in an El Salvadorian mega-prison. Mr. Garcia is incredibly lucky to be alive at all. Can you imagine being in that scenario, meeting with your US state senator, then being lead back into lock-up‽ They had zero justification for sending him there, zero justification to hold him there, and zero justification to keep him one second longer.

What was the point of Van Hollen flying down there personally if not to bring him home? Leaving Mr. Garcia behind is tacit approval for disregarding due process.

I don’t think the United States in general gives a flying fuck about non-whites, now or in the past.

I give a flying fuck though, so I’m gonna get pissed when I see a basic lack of respect for any person. I’m going to get pissed and rail against every single erosion of rights I can, right up until I get the fuck out of this insane country.

I’m glad I’m not one if the people who has to defend this administration in court. They can’t go one fucking day without publicly contradicting their own court filings. The amount of contortions their lawyers have to do to try to avoid getting trapped in a no win scenario is hilarious.

If it were me, I’d probably be the first member of the administration to get sent to El Salvador after losing it and blurting out “why can’t you shut your goddamn dick holster for one fucking day you stupid asshole‽” in a meeting.

There seem to be some oversights among the guardrails of democracy here.

“We’re asking you nicely to stop this.”

    “No.”

“Don’t make us ask again. You’ve been warned.”

    “Still no.”

“Alright, buster. You asked for it. We’re going to ask even more nicely!”

Now the branches come too close to grinding irrevocably against one another in a conflict that promises to diminish both. This is a losing proposition all around. The Judiciary will lose much from the constant intimations of its illegitimacy, to which by dent of custom and detachment we can only sparingly reply. The Executive will lose much from a public perception of its lawlessness and all of its attendant contagions. The Executive may succeed for a time in weakening the courts, but over time history will script the tragic gap between what was and all that might have been, and law in time will sign its epitaph.

Why aren’t these people being arrested immediately? The military and police swear to defend the constitution. All of this is unconstitutional

Who am I? The antifa answer man? I know literally nothing about you other than your odd username, and your assertion that you live in another county. Open your eyes, look around, I bet you are clever enough to think of something beside starving the US of what little cash you may have ever given to corporations that operate from here.

Yeah, how far back you wanna go?

I’m thinkin George Lincoln Rockwell or John Birch Society are probably pretty good landmarks for the budding of what became MAGA.
