Game and Tool developer working with Godot and NixOS.
This has been, and will probably continue to be, and ongoing issue. Google is working hard to block VPN and Data Center IPs at a network level when using their API. Usually we get patches within days when an episode like this flairs up, but some times that also triggers even more action from Google to change their methods. Usually it’s an issue with the underlying libraries being used like yt-dlp, youtube.js, or invidious API; meaning all YT circumvention apps get affected at the same time (e.g., FreeTube uses Invidious API).
Constant cat and mouse game. I usually try FreeTube first, if that fails I’ll try 2 Invidious instances that usually work well (one self-hosted, the other inv.nadeko.net), then I try Grayjay, and failing all of that I’m just not watching the video right now.
ETA: nadeko added a note about it to the top of their site, so FT is definitely broken because of Invidious/Google
Their note:
Youtube changed something again, so if a video does not play, it’s because of that.
ETA2: lmao, another public invidious instance shows this and doesn’t even load the app:
Maintenance. Invidious broke completely. Come back later.
Just from this screenshot, seems like it makes the water more blocky than it was.
side note: According to the article, this is primarily for the Bedrock version right now and the Java version will get it later.
I really, really don’t understand how people see LLMs as the only options for stuff like this…
Literally, written language and even typewriters have been a part of human history for a relatively long amount of time compared to how long simple computers have been a part of human history. I wonder if OP is very young and part of a generation that doesn’t even know what landlines are.
What are you even using GPT for? Is it literally just dictating your thoughts into typed words? There are so money speech-to-text things out there that are not AI… On a cursory search for something: https://fosspost.org/open-source-speech-recognition#Top_Open_Source_STTTTS_Systems
If you feel bad about it, then stop using it, period. Life isn’t easy, and the way that modern society tries to make convenience the number one goal is a crock of shit. Plan to put effort into your life, you will 1) get more out of it and 2) be less unprepared when situations arise. As a start, maybe practice typing while you talk and dictate your own thoughts into an offline app like Notepad++ or LibreOffice. You’ll have the exact same, identical end-result, except you will have done it all using your own abilities. Remember, the typewriter existed long before the computer, and certainly much longer than LLMs. Even Speech-to-Text systems have existed much longer than LLMs…
Or just do like you mentioned, fully embrace wilful ignorance and suppress whatever makes you feel uneasy about using GPT. Eventually, you’ll condition yourself into a perfect crop.
Either way, you need to pick a side and lean into it. Being in a tormented limbo will only make everything much worse.
I got my Kobo eReader literally days ago, phew
Unfortunately, nothing. Always comes from different instances for me. Whack-a-mole
It’s so hot, imgur is at capacity and only returns json
It’s kind of a moot point if you’re in the USA. There are only 3 companies that actually own and operate cell towers: ATT, Verizon, T-Mobile. I’m speaking in terms of privacy, not coverage or quality.
Any other company just leases usage of the towers from one of them.
Then you have T-Mobile that gobbled up a bunch of smaller companies and kept the names to trick you into thinking it’s a different company (kinda like Nestle and their local bottled water companies). T-Mobile also owns Sprint and MetroPCS.
They understand this 100%
Just FYI, duckduckgo has an agreement with Microsoft regarding ads.

Unfortunately this has been going on few several months now. YT is actively blocking IPs if they think they are from data centers, VPNs, or proxies.
They’ve also been doing some under the hood cryptographic changes that cause breakages from time to time in Invidious (the backend for FreeTube)
You could almost play the game: “Linux Distro or Weed Strain?”
I spend hours writing a bash script to automate something I know I’m only going to do once.
Is there a fetish community for people that want to be ripped apart by Torvalds’ anger?
Giving the would-be linux newbs the benefit of the doubt, IF they have any terminal experience at all it is with CMD/PowerShell. I don’t blame them one bit for wanting to banish all terminals into the shadow realms, they had a traumatic experience.
