  • “Honestly Bob we all know that resumes are BS and people will lie, puff and spin any and everything they have ever done to sound more impressive and act like they desperately want to work for money. I want nothing more than to never have to work another day in my life and live in the lap of luxury but that isnt in the cards. So what you’re holding is simply something to set myself apart from everyone else and get myself in this seat.”

  • It wouldnt be any good for speed runs on an OG console. But I’m using all those re-release mini consoles so they are effectively emulated and not always perfectly so its ok. Best thing is I think I paid $50 for the projector brand new so its not expensive to give it a try, and even if you think it sucks theres a novelty to playing NES on a 3 meter “screen”

Good enough that I’m still a hot hand at Metal Slug.

  • The Stg44 was produced from 1944 by the german army in ww2. So very late in the war, very few of them (comparatively to most ww2 guns) were made and as you can imagine, guns from the “losing side” tend to be destroyed. They were pretty much the first “assault rifle” and the AK47 adapted a lot from it. It was found in Conneticut so it was almost definitely brought home from WW2 by a US soldier, it was almost certainly used in anger.

Undoubtably its worth preserving as a very rare example of something of historical significance, but I dont blame someone for not recognising it as such.

  • You’re both right.

Most of the time condition is the determining factor, but there are cars that even absolutely fucked, the value is in the vin number. You can cut away 90% of the chassis and body, replace it with steel and patch panels from lesser models, source an engine and an interior and “ship of thesius” yourself a “Genuine” 69 R/T Charger.

Also, you’re disregarding the sweat equity equation. Basic spares and repair parts are usually pretty cheap, wiring and mechanical on an old truck is pretty damn simple and bodywork is reasonably easy to learn and do quite affordably if they are smart about it and have the time to put in.

Restoration shops do manage to stay in business because sometimes people want the car they lusted after when they were 16,the kids have grown up and moved out and they have money… condition is less important then.
