    I don’t know why, but this made me audibly giggle. I’m not sure if it’s Charon’s confusion in the penultimate panel, or the possum’s gleeful/eager expression in the ultimate one.

        I wrote this. I so rarely get to use the word “penultimate”; I wanted to. It was especially cool to be able to pair it to “ultimate” meaning “last” instead of (the more colloquial) “greatest”.

      In ancient Greek they put coins into the mouth of dead people to pay the ferryman for a trip over the Styx to the underworld. (I think it was bronze coins, correct me pls if I’m wrong.)

      So yes it must be dead in the first place.

        Right but opossums are known to play dead, so they’re saying that it could have been playing and they just made it choke to death on a penny
