Svalboard. Not am EMACS user (it’s a fine editor/Lisp interpreter) but, even nice mechkb isn’t necessarily going to prevent RSI or exacerbation of existing conditions. Best to change to a text-entry device that is designed with humans in mind.

Fedora Atomic has been working nicely on my personal laptop. Anything funky, I tend to run in a VM w/ libvirt (KVM/QEMU) or a container. Makes it quicker to fix if I break something.

That’s the DataHand, one of the few novel text-entry devices in the last few decades. It’s sadly no longer made but ifyou want a modern one, check out the Svalboard.

The Svalboard is made by one guy in California with FOSS firmware based on QMK/Vial. He took it on because his DataHand, which had enabled him to keep working with a wrist injury, broke and no parts were available.

I got one myself after near disabling wrist RSI. I don’t type as fast as I used to (yet) but I am able to work with a lot less pain.

In this case, it’s a feature of the language that enables developers to implement greater amounts of parallelism. So, the developers of the Python-based application will need to refactor to take advantage of it.

I like your explanation and also would say that Drag did a great job of forcing me to consider this section of grammar. I very much dislike “individual pronouns”, similar to the other commenter, but specifically because they cause unnecessary frustration and discord in my already discordant neurodivergent brain (the point of pronouns is that there are ideas and contexts that absolutely require generic forms of nouns - breaking that section of language is very frustrating, especially as one who tries to show everyone the respect that any person deserves). However, like the other commenter, I do not see any way to engage conversationally and respectfully, without using them when requested.

So, even though it is internally aggravating, if I choose to engage, showing the basic decency of at least making a best effort of addressing one how they request is the least one can do, supposing that the individual is not specifically requesting to be addressed in a manner to elevate themselves over others (whether in good or bad faith, ex. “King”, “Master”, etc - save that for scenes, if that’s your kind of thing).

Now, neopronouns and the like, I’m all about those because they don’t break my brain and, as a bonus, many of them are novel to me.

And anyone who has been around for a while should remember when left-pad broke node.js. Including unnecessary dependencies, instead of writing trivial code is just bad practice.
