  • Shout-out to my man Sam.

I know a lot of people here hate him for his political takes, but his meditation app can be divorced from his podcast career. His science based approach to meditation, with no spiritual conflation is so refreshing.

I’ve had so many life changing realizations about my own mind thanks to him. His efforts to emphasise the outcomes of compassion and stoicism in the face of hostility have changed my outlook on engaging with abrasive people, and is one of the most important lessons I’ve learnt in a long time.

Furthermore, the realization that free will is an illusion helps to change how you view people who annoy you. They’re victims of their own minds, and slaves to every prior cause in their life. Forgiveness and tolerance are both rational, and impossible perspectives to deny, once you can see it clearly.

  • With exposure to neurodivergent posts online, it became apparent to me that even interacting with people is an unreliable way of discerning someone’s character.

Some people are highly anxious, which can manifest in all sorts of ways, from seeming like an asshole, to being erratic and sketchy.

I’m sure we’ve all had situations where we said something, later realizing how it could be misconstrued.

Then we’ve got people with autism, schizophrenia, ADHD, depression, etc.

And that’s without mentioning the personal circumstances of the day, week or month.

Just don’t judge people if it’s unlikely to cost you anything.

Choose compassion, patience and respect. You will never know the plight of a stranger.

  • Yeah I get it, I’m just saying it’s unnecessary. If I need to see what’s going on in the background, then my eyes should be able to focus on it.

There are very few scenarios where DoF would be appropriate (like playing a character who lost their glasses).

Like chromatic aberration, which feels appropriate for Cyberpunk, since the main character gets eye implants and fits the cyberpunk theme.

  • As you said, the increase in oiliness is compounded upon daily use of shampoo. Using it frequently will eventually strip all of the oils out (if you’ve got long hair - People with shorter hair shouldn’t have an issue).

There are certainly times where I use it, but it’s very rare, it normally fucks my shit up for a good week.

Hot showers are bourgeoisie propaganda, designed to keep the working class in a perpetual cycle of stank.

Think about it, the sales of hygiene products fuel our economies, they have us played for absolute fools.

Our hot showers come at the cost of energy, normally coal, which makes climate change worse, making us hotter, and more sweaty, leading to more hot showers.

Ten thousand years ago, our ancestors had no class divide, no climate change, and no hot showers.

Surely you see now that our only option is to rise up, and together, say “fuck this shit” and kill billionaires and stop taking hot showers.

And if you keep taking hot showers then you’re enabling the fascist techno crypto oligarchy patriarchy.

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’ve got a lukewarm shower to attend.

As someone who doesn’t use shampoo and has hair which has re-adapted to not having the natural oils stripped out, and doesn’t use soap for the same reason, I am confident to say:

    ** Showers are a good thing. **

Just don’t blast your skin with steaming hot water and your skins microbiome and keratin glands will adapt. Being “100% clean” will lead to sweat which stinks because of the heat-resistant bacteria which flourishes (thanks to a less diverse microbiome) and produces bad odour after digesting your sweat.

Sweat itself doesn’t have a smell, it’s why you don’t stink the moment you start sweating.

What OP is doing here is fabricating a satirical story based on these principles.
