That wasn’t quite it. The church believed the natural sciences fit within a framework of metaphysical doctrine. The church engaged in all sorts of research and experiments because they believed it would prove the truth. People like Darwin and Copernicus and such were all commissioned by the church to develop and research their work.

What happened was there became a growing body of work that did not align with the church that could not be reconciled. They did the science, they were just subject to the demands of political power of their time.

Education and economic opportunity aren’t really genetically moderated. Unless you mean it’s going to take multiple generations’ time strictly because it may take decades to improve upon those because such infrastructure and policy has a lot of resistance from the ruling class.

Europe has roughly the same land mass as the United States and less than half the population. The population density and urbanization is even lower.

So for the USA it’s actually quite a bit to have protests of hundreds in smaller towns and state capitols.

Major cities can muster the large groups, but the consistent and widespread nature of the protests should not be discounted.

Incidentally I am also not seeing counter protests or demonstrations of support.

Fair point. But even so I think SteamOS has the most viable potential to achieve something like a 5-10% adoption rate that could get entities like nVidia to pay more attention.

Maybe. I just mean once(if) there becomes an OS that reliably runs Steam and the games on Steam, there will be a viable alternative to Windows for a significant population of users.

I think once Valve polishes SteamOS for desktop environments there will be actual largescale migration.

That was kind of the critical issue going on. There was this whole movement to get some kind of course change on Israel. Biden made it clear there was a higher chance of Trump changing course on Israel. Kamala insisted she would not change course from Biden.

It really didn’t work out for their campaign.

The Alito brain is the end stage of this mentality.

She dissented in a minority opinion against a decision Alito made last week.

Alito made up complete fantasy and misinterpreted his own self to rule against the EPA and rrverse the 9th circuit. It is completely devoid of legal basis outside dictionary definitions and it even references its own arguments incorrectly. Alito literally contradicts himself in his own aegument and just plods right through. Barret calls this out as a failure on the basis of ‘ordinary english’.

But it doesn’t matter because Alito was in the majority. No matter how meaningless his arguments were or how utterly correct the dissenting opinion is: it is so ordered.
