It’s more like the truth lands somewhere in between. The people making the argument of “despite the lack of morality, Unit 731 gave us a lot of useful research and advanced human knowledge!” have the same type of mindset as the ones saying “literally nothing Unit 731 did is worth anything. It is all 100% useless and we shouldn’t spend any time looking at any of it!”.

Essentially, both of these groups started with a conclusion and worked backwards from there. One wants desperately to believe that at least something worthwhile came from all that evil, the other wants desperately to believe that evil like that couldn’t possibly produce anything of value.

It’s just an attempt to rationalize the absolute atrocities that Unit 731 was allowed to commit. Either by saying it was for some “greater good”, or by saying they weren’t scientists at all and there was no purpose other than the cruelty.

I keep telling myself that I’m doing ok and everything is fine, but at least once a day I suddenly collapse and start quietly sobbing. It usually happens in the shower, but it can happen anytime I have a brief moment alone. Only lasts for about 1 to 5 minutes and then I’m back up doing whatever it was I was doing, but its happening more and more frequently, and it’s getting harder to pretend I’m not overwhelmed by everything.

There is so much chaos and uncertainty. When I look at the state of the world, it feels like giving up and screaming incoherently into the void is somehow the most rational response; and that trying to keep going is the real insanity.

Then why hasn’t everyone who started out with a couple hundred million grown it to over 300 billion? I mean, if it just happens naturally, even to incompetent buffoons, then why don’t we see more people with 12 figure net worth’s? There’s thousands of people that start off in life with access to millions, but less than 2 dozen people have a net worth of over 100 billion.

Gee, I guess there’s more to it than just simply being rich.

A few weeks back a bunch of Democratic Congresspeople went to the Department of Education with a whole media circus in tow, and were blocked from entering by a single small man, who couldn’t have weighed more than 150lbs soaking wet, who claimed to be hired by Musk and working for the federal government despite not providing any ID. The Democrats gave up and left.

Like fucking what? Are you kidding me? You are members of Congress! Just fucking push past him! Either that security guard has the authority to keep you out, in which case they’d have to go through the terrible fucking optics of arresting a sitting congressperson for accessing a government building, or he doesn’t actually have the authority in which case you have a duty to tell him to fuck off.
