In the last two months I have gotten about a dozen emails on my work account that tripped enough red flags for me to think they were phishing attempts. It turns out that they were all legit and failure to respond could be determental to still working there. Good thing our boss was looking out for us.
What I have learned is that I should respond to any half-assed email and ignore the years of annual training I’ve recieved to the contrary.
Two things stuck out to me when I read this.
First, the proposal splits the parcel and the letter portions of USPS. The letter portion stays with the government.
Second, the proposal sells all USPS property.
The parcel portion of USPS is what allows them to “make” as much money as the do and the letter portion will still need at least most of the facilities to continue as well.
Following this will increase package shipping costs (the proposal acknowledges that) and will put an end to the letter portion of the service because they will be left without the revenue or facilities to contine.
Why would an immigrant want to come here right now? Trump just sent a bunch of people to El Salvador to rot in prison with no due process. A fancy card wouldn’t save them any more than the court order saved Kilmar Armando Abrego Garcia.
