  • There are aeronautical engineers who think the world is flat. Human beings aren’t rational creatures, so it’s not surprising that there are scientists that are religious, but acting like it’s some bad apples who give religion a bad name is also not correct. Might I remind you the vatican itself has helped hide multiple crimes committed by the clergy over the years, everything from shielding child raping priests by moving them around to burying the bones of the native American children that were kidnapped from their families and brutalized in church grounds. Point me to any country on the map that’s a theocracy and I’ll show you how they brutalize their population. I’m not against religion, but religion shouldn’t be allowed to interfere in other people’s lives, should not have any say in how a goverment runs and how laws get passed and should be forced to pay taxes like any other business. Religious people with power over others are a danger to society.

  • Split column staggered is how keyboards designed for human hands should be, I don’t understand how most manufacturers are still pushing a keyboard designed for mechanical typewriters, that needed the row stagger for the mechanical linkages under every key. I’m I’m in between jobs right now but I’ll buy a split keyboard as my next keyboard soon

  • Lol do you live in a cave or something, religious organizations used to straight up torture and kill scientists if they made any claims that were not in line with what the religion claimed, read up on what they did to the early astronomers who were figuring out that the sun and not earth is the center of or solar system, and that’s just one instance, I can point to a million other atrocities that today’s society views as barbaric done by organized religion. Religion has nothing to do with living a good life, it’s about centralising power and control over the masses and making them obey your commands.

  • I make it a point to never make eye contact or look in the general direction of people walking the other way near me. But I also feel like if someone was actually into me I would completely miss that, but the chances of anyone being into me are so low anyway.

  • Yeah when are comfortable typing commands it’s obviously much easier to just pull up the terminal and do that and since dependencies are shared between applications in Linux it prevents your drive from becoming bloated and it’s so much easier to update everything using a few commands, but most people are not comfortable typing even basic words let alone commands, every time I’ve seen my manager who apparently used to be a programmer once, struggle to type a sentence making spelling mistakes in ever word, I’m glad he doesn’t code anymore, cause most of the time when he runs a command he makes some mistake and screws things up and then I have to fix it.

  • So long as you need a terminal to do anything on a Linux machine it’s not gonna get any mainstream appeal, most people can barely install a app on windows where they just have to click next a few times. Also if the laptop you buy comes pre-installed with windows what would motivate a regular joe to go out of his way to install Linux on it and risk messing things up by making a mistake. Also people don’t want to replace their windows only software and gaming is another reason to stick to windows for now. I’d rather use Linux, but I’ll wait till Steam has made most games compatible with Linux, and Nvidia and Amd give proper driver support for linux
