Israel uprooted 10,000 olive trees in al-Mughayyir during a three-day siege of the West Bank Palestinian village. The Israeli army stated that uprooting the trees was intended to “deter” village residents and make them “pay a heavy price.”
I interpret that as different than what you originally said, where you were specifically addressing components of government.
Not that I believe any government, or object, or concept has any inherent “right” to anything.
But dismantling a society is fundamentally different than dismantling a government.
The only correlary I can think of is truth and reconciliation in SA. But in some ways what Israel has done, both historically and recently, is far worse than apartheid SA.
