Hilariouschaos is the renewal of exploding heads, it attracts monsters like flies (or something like that, parent deleted their comment so I’m paraphrasing)

Can someone show me the hate on hilariouschaos that makes them monsters? They have been censured on fediseer, I think unfairly - each censure is a supposition about what they might do, not what they have done on hilariouschaos. When I look at the instance itself I don’t see hate or antagonism, they are not combative like hexbear.

I personally think if a group keeps their crazy into !crazythoughts@instance and then goes out into the fediverse acting as good citizens and respecting posted community rules… then thats fine, they are good fediverse neighbors.

Censures - https://gui.fediseer.com/instances/detail/hilariouschaos.com - None of this point to something the instance itself did. Most of the censures are blank… It’s not reasonable to censure a instance for predicted behavior, and its really unreasonable to just echo a censure without doing a investigation “i.e. the n/a censures”

Their admin action modlog looks reasonable :

Update - I’ve made a dedicated fedigrow post on HC and their censures and defederation.

I can’t show you specific examples but my block list is filled with users from that instance. They seem to attract shitheads for some reason.

Fair enough, but to understand the impact of your block list, I need to know under what circumstances you would block someone?

I block rude people, bigots, and tankies or fascists. i have noticed hilarious chaos as the instance of a bunch of the users i end up blocking. Their url is rather unique and sticks in the brain.

Here is hilarious chaos’s TOS: https://www.termsfeed.com/live/2df34e41-7192-4df8-bfc2-c311fe60a35a which they post under their legal section off the main instance landing page.

      Content Restrictions

You may not transmit any Content that is unlawful, offensive, upsetting, intended to disgust, threatening, libelous, defamatory, obscene or otherwise objectionable. Examples of such objectionable Content include, but are not limited to, the following:

      • Unlawful or promoting unlawful activity.
      • Defamatory, discriminatory, or mean-spirited content, including references or commentary about religion, race, sexual orientation, gender, national/ethnic origin, or other targeted groups.
      • Spam, machine – or randomly – generated, constituting unauthorized or unsolicited advertising, chain letters, any other form of unauthorized solicitation, or any form of lottery or gambling. …
      • Violating the privacy of any third person.

The TOS seems reasonable, and second point seems to go against the censures accusations.

Lots of Lemmites are obsessed with censoring people for what they “might do.” It’s getting freakin’ crazy lately. lol

I believe many of the censures came to being as a coordinated effort to isolate the instance as it was one of the first that allows speech that doesn’t tow the lemmy party line.

From the interactions I’ve seen on my community on hc all the vile activity has come from outside instances.
