    Always have! Severity of punishment has been repeatedly proven to have little to no effect on deterrence. In the US it is not based on lowering crime or rehabilitating criminals, it’s about making money and inflicting punishment.

    Living wages, clean places to live, morehealthcare, less police funding, more education funding, safe injection sites, are just a few thingss that make cities safer

    Like all the schools with Zero Tolerance policies where kids get kicked out of school for misunderstandings, or just things that a kid can’t yet have known to not do. So one mistake and now the kid has a hard time getting an education, which leads to a worse life.
