Here’s the thing. Republican leadership and elected officials are lock-step aligned with their party members. They are aligned in sociopathic and evil ways, but they are partners. Conversely, Democratic Party leadership HATES its party members, and feels no responsibility to cater to their ideologies, or policy desires whatsoever. While republicans feel bound to implement the disgusting policies of their constituents, democrats presume support whether they bother to feign allegiance with voters or not.
