  • I once faced the anger of my entire class because my Inability to pay attention to lessons meant i was the only one that knew how to brute force reverse engineer formulas using the fancy calculator and oblivious to the fact the teacher had forgotten to teach that specific material.

My Imposter syndrome peaked when we got the test and teacher pointed at me directly as proof we had covered the material.

You’re not doing it on purpose but your comment does highlight the ease people dismiss the social experience of hidden disability.

    • Oh your that (weird) person always wearing gloves.

    • Why are you so sensitive about your gloves?, just take em off.

    • Someone tried to rip off her gloves the other day and they are in the hospital now.

Comments in this style are more common for teens but the sense of not belonging even if for something at first glance mundane lasts well into adulthood.

  • Iam not super knowledgeable about vintage consoles but i do know gamedev theory. Games are designed to look good on the hardware of its time so an old crt will look better then a modern lcd. Do the people that own these actually want this?

Of course there is always the cool technical puzzle to make old tech work with new but if this was just that it wouldn’t be a market product.

Is this a hdmi adapter that makes vintage games look like they are supposed to on a modern display? Can anyone vouch a comparison video, thats very cool.

  • I recognize that this is a very different angle but there is a global trend for free open source software which are non profit by design.

Of course this basically means you need to be a developer and than there is still the question about how to survive within economic society.

I doubt you want to live from donations coming from where you are now.

The sweet spot, which might be viable for you is an open source devision within a for profit company. Many industries have started to understand the massive value of open source software and standards. Companies like redhat build open source tools on one side but then sell industry tailored packages and support to enterprises for profit. Even Nvidia has started to open source some level of their drivers because they realized that enthusiast will often improve on those for zero costs.

I imagine in some of those divisions its just like a normal company with not just devs but all kinda of roles your direct product will be used by the for profit stuff but also be free for everyone else out there that might need it.

  • Not at all, i just respect that people have personal boundaries and its ok to not be compatible with everyone.

Personally i would love this prank. But i also dis experience one where my headphones disappeared and reappeared in my Locker where i would never put them. I am autistic and mentally just spiraled till my best friend came clear.

  • Op should tell her asap. Op caused this and if op truly cares about the situation they should take responsibility and the blame.

Worser cases reality 1: The panic attack was unrelated and Op is a stone cold bastard for not asking/showing empathy about it.

Worser cases reality 2: Gf thinks there was someone else and she had cheated with on accident, these panic attacks keep occurring as its settles as a deep trust issues complex.

Best case reality: Op tells her straight to the point and offers a sincere apology. Gf forgives op, and the relationship is strengthened in the long term.

Mixed reality: Gf is furious and dumps Op on the spot. They both dodged a red flag and were simply not compatible in finding eachothers boundaries. You don’t pull jokes like that on a single whim, it’s clearly part of their nature.

This is a green text and probably fake btw.

  • NEET is is an economic label that means Not in Employment Education or Training. Its the group often looked down on as leeches in society but the term doesn’t consider the reasons or health of the person.

The sister in the post appears much more like the Japanese shutins or hikikomori who isolate themselves from all social contact. Technically being a hikikomori is a choice but mental health and big pressure culture probably dont help.
