Yeah, this shit is why I get on my wife about checking the legitimacy of images from Gaza before she shares them. I tell her, “If you make one mistake that is they excuse they need. The bad actors will focus entirely on that and use it to delegitimize everything you post about it.” These people will repeat lies and falsehoods all day, but the moment you make a mistake they will pounce and never let go.

So laser focused on whether the one image is legitimate, ignoring all the other evidence that Israel is indeed intentionally starving people.

Actually, most people just can’t afford to leave. With so few spaces being public these days you can’t leave your house without spending money you don’t have.

Just don’t live longer than a decade, don’t experience inflation, and don’t grow old and infirmed.

Yeah there’s personal tunnel vision for you. I’m lucky that my line of work is not the type that would enrage someone to violence so that didn’t occur to me. I’m going to assume your wife is helping people in a way that crazies don’t like. Please don’t shatter the illusion if it’s because her work hurts people.

If I’m remembering correctly substance abuse and/or mental illness only ever trended strong in the long term unhoused. Lots of them are not long term.
