I was also considering trying out CasaOS/ZimaOS until I came across this.

Yeah the Google captcha keeps getting in the way. I use GrayJay as an alternative.
I’ve been eagerly waiting for privacy.com since 2015. There’s no genuine alternative to it.
I’m sideloading YouTubePlus IPA. I have tried most of the open-source options; however, Google captcha keeps causing issues.
I’ve stopped using bookmarks. Instead, I use workspaces and vertical tabs. I have various workspaces, such as main, work, learning, shopping, and so on. Thanks to Orion, the tabs hibernate, which means less resources are consumed. All the tabs are available, and as soon as I click on one, it becomes active.
Best part is workspaces also sync with iOS.
Orion is said to be open source in the future according to its developer.
You don’t have to use a single browser. I use multiple browsers on my desktop: Mullvad, Zen, Vivaldi, Orion, and Brave.
On iOS, I use Brave and Orion.
Thanks for this. This came out of nowhere.
Oh, I didn’t know that. Thanks for the suggestion. It’s gonna be on my home server soon! ✅
Can’t trust Mozilla anymore with the data, so you’re better off finding alternatives. You can check out: xBrowserSync
Use any fork of Firefox without the sync option.
I’ve tried out most of the popular browsers:
I keep coming back to Vivaldi. Here are a few reasons why:
I use Zen browser as backup. Firefox-based browsers always seem to have something broken, so it’s good to have a chromium-based browser.
I really like Brave for privacy reasons, but it lacks some of my most used features like workspace and split-view.
I know Vivaldi looks a bit overwhelming at first, but you can disable almost everything you don’t need.
In my opinion, a VPN is a must-have, especially if you’re self-hosting, especially for a media server.
Go touch some grass.
Yeah I use Filen with Nextcloud as a backup. It’s not the best but does the job. Better than most of the corporate ones
