I remapped the power button of my computer to whatever that series of keypresses is that exits vim.
You forgot to turn your brain back on.
Hey look, you’re the Democrat in my version of the meme!
Glad you can turn your brain off so quickly. I bet it helps you sleep. I mean it as: who is an actual greater opponent in reality to “leftists who care about human rights”: online “tankies” or Democrats who literally threw an election to Trump, in part over their refusal to stop actively supporting a genocide? Reassess who your real enemies are, and prioritize your battles based on what is actually happening in the world.
I feel like this meme makes more sense if instead of “Tankies”, the character is labeled “Democrats”.
Ah, I see. At the least though, it demonstrates that it is still possible to watch YouTube via proxy.
I use PipePipe and Mullvad to watch YouTube everyday. Occasionally it complains, and I just have to change the VPN server.
Subscription search seems at odds with privacy.
ACAB forever.
This is tough, because even though you are charging your tenants the exact amount of your minimum mortgage payment, you are still earning equity in an appreciating asset-- eventually you will be able to turn their rent payments into profits. Now, in my opinion, your level of exploitation is very low, and barely worth considering at all.
Uh if the cameras are in public, they have no expectation of privacy, right?
Well, no shit. You think we stopped developing exploding car tech in the 80’s?
Woke shitted my pants.
Hexbear admins decided pretty much right away not to engage in the auction. The bidding war is probably between someone with too much money and hate for hexbear, and an agent of the auctioneer driving up the price.
A variation of this post pops up with ridiculous frequency on Lemmy.world. Just go find out for yourself what people are like on those other instances, instead of asking for 3rd party opinions here.
You don’t have to be a beginner to love Mint. I am very happy that they are putting more energy into the Debian edition. I’ve tried lots of other distros over the years, and I am just comfortable in Mint.
I’ve been using Linux for almost 20 years, but I still remember the fear of the terminal. The truth is that there is not much that you need to learn for daily use. Unless I’m working on an actual project (like configuring servers/networking) I don’t spend much time in a CLI. Start with a beginner friendly distro (Linux Mint Debian Edition is my pick). You shouldn’t need terminal at all for basic usage. Next, find some tutorials on basic Linux terminal usage and practice. The goal isn’t to “learn every command” but to just familiarize yourself with how it works. Learn how to navigate your files and folders (ls, cp, mv, touch, etc). Learn how to edit text files (use nano). After that, anything you need to learn will be because you want to do something beyond basic use.
