Now that’s some nonsense, my mate’s kid still uses his, and he’s like 10
Yeah, that’s a low blow. Not a Walkman, not just a portable Cd player, a bloody mp3 cd with a remote on the headphones from 2002. Who are you calling old, eh? Kids these days have no respect
Because you could hardly walk, let alone run with one if you actually wanted to enjoy the music

You need to do finger exercises to have any chance of switching the big clunky switch
PennyRoyal@sh.itjust.worksto Guitar Pedals@lemmy.world•Protein Dual Overdrive V4 — Browne Amplification0·3 months agoBeing nostalgic for the Cold War is a particularly odd emotion for a pedal to inspire, but damn if that not only looks fantastic, but screams build-quality in a way only things built up to a government specification, as opposed to down to a price, truely can.

PennyRoyal@sh.itjust.worksto Privacy@lemmy.ml•The Truth About VPNs: What You Need to Know1·3 months agoAh, so essentially, you’re achieving a similar result to port-forwarding while still using Mullvad by the container forcing all qbittorrent’s connection to go through Mullvad. That’s actually a pretty ideal situation for me, I’d much rather keep using Mullvad if possible, I’ll have to go learn how all this works. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction
PennyRoyal@sh.itjust.worksto Privacy@lemmy.ml•The Truth About VPNs: What You Need to Know2·3 months agoBear with me here, as I know sweet FA about docker containers, but am I right unthinking you only really use it in your container, as opposed to running it on whole devices, or your router? What’s the advantage of that?
PennyRoyal@sh.itjust.worksto Privacy@lemmy.ml•The Truth About VPNs: What You Need to Know10·3 months agoI’ve used Mullvad for years, but the lack of port-forwarding is becoming a pain in the proverbial. I’d been considering OVPN, but does anyone have any experience with that, IVPN or Proton? What do you consider the better option?

Conversely, I’m coming to the conclusion that I could probably live with just a steam deck, instead of a laptop etc. A portable screen, or my projector, my nice Bluetooth mouse and keyboard, and I reckon it’ll do everything I really need day-to-day.

One of my mates got his plums snipped in his 20s, still doesn’t regret it. Another of my mates spent his whole life saying he wasn’t going to have kids, and seriously considered the snip, but was grateful he didn’t when he met the now mother of his kids in his mid 40s. Life’s weird, and only (and sometimes not even) you can really know your own mind
