I never questioned the effectiveness in terms of teaching the consumer. As I’ve said, I’m in favor of that and it’s great.
However, people tend to continue their consumtion despite better knowledge. At least I remember this being the case with cigarettes. So it does almost nothing for the general health of your population. As others already mentioned, plain labels, a ban on marketing and similar actions are probably far more effective.
While I’m in favor of adding a label, I don’t think it would change much of anything. If you’re really health conscious, you probably don’t drink already and most other people would presumably say stuff like “everything causes cancer these days” or “my grandfather drinks daily and look how healthy he is”.
If I remember correctly, even putting NSFW warning images on cigarettes didn’t do much.
I honestly don’t get it. I’ve been playing the same game for about three months of real time now and clocked in about 120 hours. I didn’t play anything else and and it’s consuming most of the time I have to myself. The game is Witcher 3.
Now, that means every 1000 hours would take me 25 months or just over two years of playing a game exclusively. Probably more since my data above includes my Christmas vacation, which was quite lengthy. No single game is good enough to take such a big place in my life. I could play so many shorter better games.
Assuming that’s not some default config I just don’t know, that’s actually a rather competently built config for i3 or similar. If he did that hinself he should manage.
Yeah, but unlike with Biden it is unfair to judge her by the crimes of her children! /s
Maybe navigating is the wrong term. It’s just impossible to find stuff relevant to me on discord. On any given larger server, there may be a few channels I could be interested in - but they are just a single chat log, often with lots of off-topic spam, and many different people having almost separate discussions at the same time. On any given larger phpBB, stuff is mostly separated into different threads with all the off-topic posts being delegated to a single thread. It’s better searchable and better organized.
I may be getting old, but I think D*scord (I’m all for cencoring it like a slur) isn’t any more simple than a phpBB or something similar was. Quite the opposite actually, at least for any user trying to navigate the the darn thing.
Getting off = orgasm
