3 months agoHe has a very large audience of regular people so if he promotes Linux, free software and privacy then this is a very good thing. The community wants adoption but as soon as regular people try their hand at it there is always something to complain about. We’ll never get anywhere with behaviour like this. Wider adaption means that many people you don’t like will participate as well. I haven’t seen this video though so I don’t know if he does a good job or not.
I always thought of Lemmy as more of an alternative to big tech, not really as a tool against state censorship. The features seem to be build accordingly. Of course it would be cool if such feature are added. Hopefully Veilid will become mature enough to build applications like Lemmy or Discord on top of it.
