Once as a kid I was hanging out with a buddy near the area where my neighborhood stopped and the next one started.

Pretty girl from the next neighborhood starts coming our way, of course me and the homie start shitting bricks. She gets to us, looks at me, and goes “oh, sorry, you looked hot from far away”, and turned around and walked back 💀

Obviously it stung but it was just so hilariously, callously mean that I had to laugh even in the moment lol

We would’ve gotten along famously lol. We used to treat cartoons like instruction manuals for fun and cool shit, none of it worked like on TV of course, but still lots of (often painful) fun to be had.

Bedsheets do not in fact make an adequate parachute for a second story jump, btw.

Well, but, will line go up? Will plausible stories be told and further depredations be clumsily obscured, and will the richbro be out of that unfortunate doomed “position” before it gets really bad?

It’s pretend world until it isn’t. Seems likely we may get close to or exceed “it isn’t pretend anymore”.

Your vote means nothing

I was with you until this, and maybe this is what people take issue with. Our vote fucking DOES mean something because if more folks voted against Trump, things would be a LOT less terrible.

They would still be unacceptably shitty though, no argument there, and I’ve been trying to show people for a long time myself that “Dems & Repubs vs. us” is a much more accurate description of the conflict than “us dems vs. us repubs”.

Even so, our vote matters a fucking lot when the Republican half of the regime is doing this kind of damage. I can’t really imagine anyone coherently arguing otherwise unless they are also arguing for immediate armed revolution. Voting matters, more of it would help with the far-reaching horrible outcomes of this administration in particular.
