Nope. We deny reality. Like a hand plunged into crystal clear water so the silt it kicks up forms a cloud, evil churns in plain sight.
Sadly that’s how cults and authoritarian governments work. Truth doesn’t matter only the party or the leadership matters. If truth goes against the narrative then it isn’t the truth, it’s now a lie and the person saying it’s the truth is an enemy. You can’t argue with it or members double down
I’m not saying you have to agree with it or accept it but we have to deal with it until large swaths of the members start to wake up.
It’s the general public. Sure he had sycophants. But most people barely pay attention.
People on the left are ignorant to social media, engagement and spread. Nobody knows any of the issues discussed and shared within the left because the left has a very big “just google it” mindset. Whereas the right will depend weeks producing content and sharing it with each other for laughs. One side gets views the other gets ignored.
