Yeah there are a group of people on lemmy who really like to have paternalistic control of both narrative, and thoughts. Which is somewhat antithetical to the very nature of federation.

    So in the meme.

    1. Anyone can join the fediverse!
    2. Ohh, no… anyone can join the fediverse

then asking “Why don’t u like diversity?” is asking someone to come to terms with their dichotomous view of the fediverse, a place for anyone includes everyone. Some people are not ready to come to terms with that.

In general - I think it’s not a great idea for a moderator to remove comments from posts they have made themselves, even if they can keep themselves objective, it doesn’t look that way. I say this fully admitting I do it myself (because I mostly run super tiny communities).

    The rules for the community

    Rules - General

    • Be respectful
    • Post on topic
    • No bigotry or hate speech

I don’t think OPs comment breaks any rules.
