From a purely technical perspective, I am very interested in reading/researching just how they are planning to implement this.

From a social/democratic perspective, I am very interested in finding out just what the hell they mean by ‘a well founded suspicion’. Interesting times ahead.

Probably by infiltrating the end device using something like NSO

“The aim is to make people planning terrorist attacks in Austria feel less secure - and increase everyone else’s sense of security,” Joerg Leichtfried of the Social Democrats, the junior minister in charge of overseeing the Directorate for State Security and Intelligence (DSN), told a news conference.

    Paradoxon.

“That is why this decision by the cabinet today is an important milestone in the fight against terrorism and spying in Austria,” he added.

What the fuck? You increase spying.

What about people planning terrorist attacks before they go into Austria? The geniuses did not think about that.

Probably. I think they may fine homeserver operators in the EU, maybe even raid their homes or jail them. But to me its unclear whether hosting it, or also using it will be a criminal offence.

Hopefully neither, and we can jail the real terrorists, those who want to get this implemented.
