Interesting. Obviously Valve has them spooked. When was the last time MS came out with a product that at least made an appearance of caring about what users want?

First thing I would do if I got that thing would be to wipe it and install SteamOS on it for the best user experience. Way better and faster than whatever garbage micro$oft put on it.

Well that’s a cooler slogan at least compared to the retro one, how’d it go…

“Live in your world, play in our walled garden locked behind a PSN account that might suddenly withdraw access to things you paid for while shuffling different tier systems and prices around and remember the BMG music rootkits? That was fun.”

… Or something like that, it’s been so long.

I mean IDK maybe they mean the “freedom of Windows” compared to like, some bastardized Android sometimes found on third party “gaming handhelds”?

    Lol

If this means that an Xbox compatibility layer is coming to windows, I’m slightly interested.

      Unfortunately, it does not.

Im holding my breath hoping Xbox is smart enough to realize they need to merge their PC and Xbox game stores… But the technical overhead required to do such a thing probably means they wont, even though theyre the only company that could pull it off.

Not pursuing this will mean the death of Xbox hardware, mark my words.

apart from sharing a cpu architecture, that’s pretty much where the similarity ends. Just because the cpu is x64 doesn’t mean the software will work with the rest of the architecturally different hardware (ex. data buses that simply don’ t exist on pc)

It’s always fun when, during a work presentation to higher ups, the XBox Game Bar or its notification popup on screen from an errant key press.
