I remember crossing the USA from coast to coast in the 1980’s. Had to often stop to literally wash the dead insects off my windshield because wipers were not doing anything but smearing the gunk.
Now, there is no issue, at all. Younger drivers never experienced this, I think?

Took this drive 3 times last year…barely any bug debris
I have driven 1200 miles over the past few days. Haven’t had to clean my windshield of bugs once.
Same in europe.
