Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang made himself available for media interviews in the wake of the publishing of its record $44 billion revenue financials and the traditional analysts’ call. Bloomberg has shared its on-air Q&A session with Huang, in which the Nvidia boss was questioned about the impact of U.S. policy on his company’s recent revenue. However, when specifically addressing President Trump’s tariffs and decision to rescind the AI Diffusion Rule, Huang couldn’t have been more extravagant with his personal praise.
That’s what you do when you’re operating in an authoritarian regime. You praise the dictator for their guidance and vision so you stay on their good side.
Yeah that’s exactly what’s going on here, I’ve seen it happen so much these past few months, and all this kowtowing is disgusting. Not that I ever thought particularly highly of giant corporations in the first place.
Is he trying to pull a Space Karen move in order to improve the image and share price for his business? It worked “great” for the former, and I’m sure, paying homage to Felon Drink Bleach will be very beneficial in the long term.
“The first one is utterly visionary. The idea of tariffs being a pillar of a bold vision to re-industrialize to onshore manufacturing and motivate the world to invest in the United States is just an incredible vision. I think this is going to be a transformative idea for the next century for us”
Given the felon’s demonstrated successes, I wonder if we might witness this comment age ungracefully rather quickly.
Nice that there’s an AMD option.
‘Rich guy thinks thing designed to make rich guys even richer is great, to the surprise of literally no one ever.’
Well fuck Nvidia, then.
<blink>fascism in progress</blink>
“Obviously, I don’t know all of his ideas, but let me tell you about two that are incredible,” answered Huang. “The first one is utterly visionary. The idea of tariffs being a pillar of a bold vision to re-industrialize to onshore manufacturing and motivate the world to invest in the United States is just an incredible vision.”
Huang is not an idiot, so the fact that he sounds like a massive one here (clearly forgetting that this isn’t Trump’s vision, but Hawley-Smoot’s back in the 20s. Clearly forgetting how that turned out. And then using the word “vision” over and over) means that he’s obviously just making money hand over foot from this deal.
My question is how. Did Taiwan (yes, it was listed as a separate country in the tariff chart) get a specific microprocessor exemption? Or is he just banking that people are going to buy gpus no matter what because of AI/crypto?
Tired of winning yet, americans?
Don’t ask me - ask his cult.
oh look at that - they wan to “win” more
I’d bet money this is to ease out his recent (not entirely unwarranted) criticism of not allowing access to the Chinese market.
You gotta love AMD!
Not sure how it happened but Nvidia CEO and AMD CEO are cousins. . However, he still made these direct statements. I would still take AMD.
What the heck, that’s crazy
Just like in WW1.
It is visionary, just they’re the kind of visions associated with huffing fumes in a back alley.
As a non-native speaker I had to think a moment before I understood the headline, because it’s so utterly bonkers I wondered if I missed a double meaning or something lol
Yeah, turns out I didn’t actually need a video card upgrade any time soon
I mean, no companies your friend but Nvidia and basically been giving consumers testicular torsion or about a decade now.
I suppose you could call that visionary if you’re an unscrupulous billionaire who has to praise the illegal power games of a psychopath in order to get favors.
Just sold my Nvidia shares — fuck 'em.
Any time I see someone making claims like this, I see someone who’s bought out or extremely stupid (or both). I don’t think this guy is stupid. Lining his pockets? Most definitely.
Trump definitely has visions, but TACO!
