Is that their shower routine?

And no, they don't move the program to a smaller box, they actually cover it.English9·6 days agoIn the NBA, they try to compromise by sharing the screen for ads during live gameplay. But the ad section is bigger than the game section.
They are better with their physical privacy (i.e. gated mansions and tall fences), but the ones who aren’t tech-literate (i.e. non tech bros) are likely the same as everyone else, and are probably even worse off than privacy-conscious regular people. I remember Zuck uses Signal, so we know at least the tech bros who are technically literate (and not the ones who only pretend to know what they’re talking about) are aware of their personal privacy.

Why do I need a SIM card to enable a hotspot whereas every other phone works without one?English0·10 days agoI really hate how mobile hotspot is considered separate from regular data. It’s the same especially if your mobile speeds are are capped anyway. It’s like dental not being included in your health insurance as if your teeth aren’t part of your body.
I use a thick pillow to hug and a folded blanket for my head. The blanket’s thickness can be customized to fit. The real problem is in hotels were both pillows are usually huge, so it’s literally a pain in the neck.
That’s the beauty of decentralization. If a billionaire somehow wants to buy a lemmy instance (unlikely), and the instance owners agree (unlikely), users will just switch to a different instance and other instances will just defederate from it (likely).

scytale@lemmy.zipto Mildly Interesting@lemmy.world•How ancient are our fears not simply of dying but of the undead?English4·14 days agoLike the Haitian Zombies? I just saw a documentary and the dude paid a lot of money to see a scam happen in real time.
I had someone at my job do something similar. He was Senior Director / VP level in tech and quit to become a full-time firefighter.
scytale@lemmy.zipto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Should I just lie on job applications and say I have a college degree?English0·14 days agoI can’t really say if there are degree filters in my company’s recruiting process, but I do know if they get far enough to reach the technical interview stage and I’m part of the interview panel, we don’t really care if the applicant has a degree or not. What we look at is experience and knowledge/skills. I wouldn’t recommend lying because HR does perform background checks.

Same. My mom used to watch it. I don’t remember much about the plot anymore, and the only things that stuck with me was the seemingly ultra HDR quality it was to me at the time, and the guy whose brains got sucked out in Starship Troopers was part of the cast.
This and surveillance pricing are good arguments against the nothing-to-hide-nothing-to-fear crowd, the next time you get into a debate with one.
