It’s a term from Star Trek for the mating cycle of the Vulcan race.

Just last night, we were watching a show that featured this fact about elephants, and I turned to my girlfriend and made this exact comment! Hilarious

In Star Trek vulcans are extremely calm most of the time, but then occasionally go through a time period when they become crazy violent mega-hornballs

Just want to point how weird it is that Spock’s wife is so patient, understanding, and loving in SNW when she’s such an evil conniving bitch in TOS and that’s only a few years later. I’m assuming we’re going to see spock do something awful to her.

I mean he is kind of in love with the ship’s nurse, it’s not hard to imagine what comes next.

Musth is a periodic condition in male elephants characterized by aggressive behavior and accompanied by a large rise in reproductive hormones.

The image from the OOP is in the article. TL;DR, male elephants get crazy angry when they’re horny you assert their dominance.

Well because of how “evolution” - it makes you produce more babies than the others that didn’t fuck and kill. So… That.

also btw i read somewhere that Musth (the manic episode) can be shortened down to approximately 2 weeks when the elephants are restrained (with a metal chain) and practically starved a bit (given very little food) for a while. (they survive ofc)

If we hadn’t already nuked ourselves by slaughtering the bees, and the bees suddenly took 80 % of our living space from us to expand their own, we’d be nuking them.

The fascinating part is, why aren’t the smart, massive matriarchs ordering all humans stomped on sight?
